In 1939 Arend Lefferts started his own business: a small grocery. When he reached 65, by 1987, he found the perfect gift: a 4-leaf clover planting kit in a 1,5-inch cube. Ever since he has been promoting these Dutch Mini Gardens. In all those years he has manufactured and dispatched all kinds of products, like globes, measuring equipment, etc. In the sixties he run a distribution centre, dispatching all kinds of gifts for promotions of big companies like Mars, BP, Shell, Mobil and other gas companies. He was the one who had the idea for the first coupon-promotions for BP. | |

You could say Arend Lefferts has always been looking for the perfect gift. A gift for someone you care about, to make her or him happy. He found it in the planting kit for a 4-leaf clover. A complete planting kit in a 1,5-inch cube designed to delight people of all ages, all over the world. These beautiful cubes with the unique origami packaging were designed by Mrs. Lefferts. Later the collection was expanded with strawberries, red tulips, forget-me-nots, cherry tomatoes, asters, roses and wood violets. Also a blue fir tree, perfect as a gift around Christmas time. Arend passed away April 2005 at the age of 81. The company however will be continued by his successors to please all new and existing customers who love and appreciate these special gift items.
